So many Mother’s Day goodies in the shop right now. We are loving Gwyneth’s Carrot-Ginger salad dressing and swooning over the art direction of her latest gem. Coyuchi does make the best waffle robes and we’ve just gotten a new shipment of all sorts of goodies. So sweet these notes from Sugarboo. Seriously, I cannot spend too much time on the sales floor. I’ll end up with a new wardrobe, some new turkish bath towels (perfect for the beach!) and of course, a necklace I must have. Why? Well, ahem… I am a Mom. I deserve a treat.

We just received another lovely shipment from Mr. Boddington’s Studio. We got a ‘motherload’ of Mother’s Day cards, and I am pretty much in love each and every one of them. In fact, when I order this line in general, I tend to go a little overboard. Who is this Mr. Boddington? He sure seems clever.
You really must drop by to see them all.

I always say if I could have any job (besides the one I currently love) and money didn’t matter, I would like to sit around and write cards to people all day. It brings me great joy, and I love to fancy up the envelope with personal doodles. I just saw ‘Sock n’ Sandal’ guy walking down Abbot Kinney. I wanted to rejoice that an old timer was strolling the boulevard, but also – Sock ‘n Sandal GUY! I love it.

Those who know me are keenly aware I have no self control when it comes to starting new art projects especially anything that has to do with screen printing. I own two Gocco machines and have bought countless linoleum boards for various art projects that sit impatiently in the garage under my sewing machine, tennis rackets and seemingly now useless CD collection. The excuses run rampant, and I am really not quite sure when I am getting to all my ideas. The truth is, running a business and having a family doesn’t leave a whole lot of extra time to tinker in the garage playing around with all my clever ways, never mind simply doing the dishes when so many statuses need to checked daily on Facebook. That’s why it comes as such a relief that I can appreciate the fine screen printing and sheer determination of others. New to Firefly is Beau Ideals. You really must see these in person. Is it wrong to be in love with a greeting card?
